Got fired today. Can’t say I’m surprised.

The store I was managing has been under preforming for a long time. It was a new store for our company and it was a big challenge especially since I was new at the managing gig. I could be mad that I was given to big of a challenge and not enough training, but really I could have tried harder.

I might still be given a part time position in the company at my old store. My boss was very civil and nice about it and I appreciate that. For the next week or so tho, I’ve got a lot of free time on my hands. I’ve got a house to clean and a new character on Oblivion.

Icing on the cake is today is our 7th anniversary . Not a great gift for my wife.

I was fired about a week ago after someone I applied to called my current boss for a reference. Which is cool, I really needed an excuse out of there.

Sorry to hear that man. Have anything else you can jump right into? When circuit city closed (10 years ago now which is crazy) I worked as a valet which I had already been doing part time. It was a great gig!

I might go work for my father in law a bit. He does flooring installation and I’ve done it before. Not a permanent gig tho because it means my wife is my boss and that’s not gonna work lol

Yeah, there was some discussion and the manager was basically like “Can’t have you working here if you’re looking for other jobs sorry”

I assumed she has had bad experiences with other employees doing the same and then royally fucking up work.

I get it, but I also was a little angry.

Or she had bad experiences with ex employees stealing information and/or customers when they got new jobs. It’s not uncommon to immediately lay someone off when they put in their 2 weeks notice (with pay in lieu of notice obviously).

There isn’t much information to steal from who I worked for directly, nothing we did was all that special.

The company we were contracted by however there are things, and stuff, but they are things I wasn’t supposed to know in the first place.

Got fired from my first real job a month on. Best thing that ever happened to me - Another company was in need of some help just then and after about 2 months of helping out they hired me full time  and It’s been a really happy place to work for the last 18 years.

Man that sucks. Been fired twice so I know how it feels. Good luck finding something soon.

Now that I think about it my job history has been rather tumultuous. Held 7 jobs in the last 10 years. 2 of those we’re temporary.  Been fired from 2 jobs and suddenly quit from 3 of them. I’m doing a lot better these days though.

It’s legal.

At will employment means they can let you go for no reason, or any reason within federal law.

And as long as whatever information they use was gotten legally, I can’t do anything, nor would I care enough to.

Yeah we’ll be alright. Just not as alright as we thought. I’m 100% sure that this point that I still have a part time job at the minimum, and I’ll have to use all that free time to find different  full time gig. What ever that my be. Biggest problem I have is a lack of direction. I know now that I can’t hack a deck job, but I have know idea what I want to do.
